Last updated: 29 May 2026
Effective date: 29 May 2026

Archipelan (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Anocount mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App on iOS, Android, and other supported platforms.

By using Anocount, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who we are

Data controller: Archipelan
App name: Anocount
Package / bundle ID: com.archipelan.anocount
Contact:[email protected]

2. What Anocount is

Anocount is an offline-first point-of-sale (POS) tool for micro vendors. It helps you record sales, expenses, menu items, and daily summaries on your device. The App is designed to work primarily without sending your shop data to our servers.

3. Information we collect and how we use it

3.1 Information you enter in the App

When you use Anocount, you may provide business and preference data, including:

Type of dataExamplesPurpose
Shop profileShop name, currency, accepted payment methodsDisplay and configure your shop
Menu dataItem names, prices, categories, colours, stock, sell mode, item codesSales logging and reporting
Sales recordsItems sold, prices, timestamps, payment method, order IDs, optional customer labels, weight (if applicable)History, summaries, profit calculation
ExpensesExpense names, amounts, datesProfit and reporting
Customer tabsTab labels and in-progress cart linesMulti-customer ordering during a session
App preferencesDark mode, language (English / Malay), display settingsPersonalise the App
Account email (optional)Email address if you sign inIdentify your session locally; cloud sync is not active in the current beta

We use this information only to provide App features (recording sales, summaries, exports, backups, and settings). We do not use your shop data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

3.2 Information stored on your device only

Except where noted in Section 4, the data above is stored locally on your phone or tablet using SQLite. We do not operate a cloud backend that receives your sales, menu, or expense data in the current version of the App.

3.3 Information we do not collect

We do not intentionally collect:

  • Precise location (GPS)
  • Contacts or address book
  • Photos, camera, or microphone content
  • Payment card numbers or bank credentials (the App records payment method labels you configure, such as “Cash” or “QR”, not card details)
  • Advertising identifiers for targeted ads
  • Analytics or crash-reporting profiles tied to your identity (we do not integrate third-party analytics SDKs such as Firebase Analytics in the current App build)

3.4 Passwords and sign-in (beta)

Account sign-in and registration are limited during the beta phase. If you use sign-in features when available:

  • Your email may be stored locally on your device to remember your session.
  • Passwords are validated on-device in the current implementation and are not transmitted to our servers because we do not operate an account backend in this beta release.

Planned future features (such as syncing your shop across devices) may involve additional processing; we will update this policy before those features launch.

4. When data leaves your device

Your data may leave your device only in the following situations, under your control or for App maintenance:

4.1 Sharing and export (your choice)

You may:

  • Share daily summaries or images to apps you select (e.g. WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, or other apps installed on your device).
  • Export backup files (JSON) or Excel reports through the system share sheet.

When you share or export, the recipient app or person receives the content you chose to send. Their privacy practices apply once data is shared outside Anocount. We do not control third-party messaging or social apps.

4.2 App updates

When you tap Check for updates, the App may contact:

  • Apple App Store (iOS) to compare your installed version with the store listing for your region.
  • Google Play (Android) for in-app update availability.

These services may receive standard technical information (such as app version and platform) as part of normal store/update APIs. We do not receive your shop sales data through update checks.

4.3 Fonts (Google Fonts)

The App uses the Google Fonts package. In some cases, font files may be downloaded from Google’s servers (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). That request may include your IP address and basic device/browser metadata as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. Bundled font assets may reduce how often network requests occur.

4.4 No sale of personal data

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on your location:

  • Malaysia (PDPA): We process personal data to provide the App you requested and, where relevant, based on your consent (e.g. when you share data externally).
  • EEA/UK (GDPR): Processing is based on contract (providing the App), legitimate interests (security, app updates), and consent where required (e.g. optional sharing).

6. Data retention

  • On your device: Data remains until you use Reset all data in Settings, clear app data in your device settings, or uninstall the App.
  • Shared exports: Copies you send via WhatsApp, email, or cloud storage remain with you and those services until you delete them.
  • Our servers: We do not retain your shop operational data on our servers in the current offline-first release.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

RightHow to exercise it in Anocount
Access / portabilityUse Backup data or report export features to obtain a copy of your data
CorrectionEdit shop, menu, sales, or expense entries in the App
DeletionUse Reset all data in Settings or uninstall the App
Withdraw consentStop using share/export features; uninstall the App
ComplainContact us at the email above, or your local data protection authority

We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable time, subject to legal exceptions.

8. Security

We use reasonable measures appropriate for a local-first app (device-level storage, no remote account database in beta). No method of storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your device locked and physically secure.
  • Choosing trusted apps when sharing backups or reports.
  • Protecting exported files that contain business or customer-related information.

9. Children’s privacy

Anocount is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it where applicable.

10. International users

The App is aimed at users in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, but may be available elsewhere. Data you enter stays on your device unless you share it. If you use the App outside Malaysia, you acknowledge that device and store providers may process data under their own laws and locations.

11. Third-party links and services

The App may open external links (for example, an app store page for updates). Third-party websites and apps have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the Last updated date at the top. For material changes, we may notify you in the App or via app store release notes. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
